When we were in Midland at the Wye Heritage Marina, Jim had spent some time with Andy in the marina office. Andy marked our charts with a suggested route. This was important as there are some places we should not go. Too many rocks, channels too narrow or shallow, etc… We followed Andy’s route, and emerged into Georgian Bay at Pointe au Baril. Yes, there really is a wooden barrel stuck on a post on top of a rock at the entrance to the channel. There are only a handful of marked channels to and from Georgian Bay. Long day rocking and rolling. Anchored next to Stawberry Island in the Bustard Islands.
