We had high hope for the day. We would make progress toward Chicago! But….. The wind was against us, so we could only motor. Waves were building, about 2-4 feet. Not bad as long as they didn’t get worse. I was at the wheel when I heard a banging noise behind me. what could that be? The radar mount had come apart from the radar pole, and everything was swinging wildly with the motion of the boat through the waves. What to do? Jim secured everything with a line and a bungee cord. Then we headed to the nearest harbor, Sturgeon Bay.
Nice marine, Skipper Bud’s Quarterdeck Marina. We spent the afternoon at the pool, then caught a cab to see “Inside out”, a wonderful movie from Pixar!
