The Chattanooga Choo Choo is not the best kept up hotel, but I am really glad we stayed there. Something really cool about waking up in a train car. We had breakfast in the old station restaurant, and then toured the gardens by the old tracks. Fun!
It was not a very long drive up to the top of Lookout Mountain. We walked around the lookout point. Beautiful views! We also tried to find the sister of a friend, but she was not home.
On our way to Rogersville, Alabama, we saw signs for a place like no other, so we went. I call it an involuntary goodwill store. Racks and racks of used clothing stretched down the huge building. The difference between this store and Goodwill is that no one planned on their clothes being sold. It was the Unclaimed baggage store. I found an Otter case for my I-pad.
I had found a rental house online in Rogersville, and it was nice. It was wonderful to have a washer and dryer. We attended the opening night dinner for the AGLCA. This was our third rendezvous, so we had a better idea of what to expect. I’d guess that at least half of the 250 attendees were currently looping. All of us in progress had an opportunity to speak briefly to the group about where we were from, what kind of boat we were on, and what we wanted the group to know about our trip. Very interesting!
