We have lots of tricks up our sleeves for getting out of our marina slip in the morning, including manhandling.
Cocomo and Diadema were faster than us, and they figured that they could make it to the Pickwick lock and dam before dark. And they did. We knew it would have been pushing it. The current was strong against us, and it was stronger the closer we came to the dam. We made the decision early that we would anchor behind Wolf Island with Matt. We could relax and enjoy the view all day. we saw several eagles, many houses built on cliffs, and one unfortunate home that was dangling.
We had Matt over for grits and chicken for dinner.
Your trip sounds fantastic. You are definitely a lot more adventurous than we are. I look forward to following your future travels.
