We arrived at the marina around 11pm on Tuesday night, just as a massive front was rolling in with very high winds.
By the time we had returned the rental car, gone to the grocery store, and settled our bill at the marina, it was noon. We “put the pedal to the metal” and roared down the 25 mile cut at the north end of the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterwsy. We were playing beat the sunset or at least that was our goal. I do not like being out on the rivers at night. The markers are not lit, the channels are narrow and the tow and barges are big!
We arrived at the first available anchorage just as it was getting dark. phew! We made it. Lovely anchorage surrounded by trees and ducks.
