The wind raged from the north for most of the night. It was so cold! It was a good thing that we did not have any guests on board, because we had all the blankets and quilts on our bed! We turned off almost everything, including the freezer/refrigerator, to conserve our batteries. We had no idea when we would be rescued.
T., the Columbus harbor master, texted me at 5:45am. He was coming soon. But, he called around 8:30am. The water hyacinths were still think. The boat he was in was overheating. He was going back to the marina to get another boat.
He showed up around 11am in a small pontoon boat, and he towed us back to the marina. Yeah!
I was frozen and exhausted.
We borrowed the Marina’s pickup truck and went to Harvey’s for dinner. I finally felt warm!
I’ll be so glad when you are further south!
