We have the most wonderful anchor. Must be a “he”, because he is so strong! And obedient, like a dog. We say “sit and stay”, and he digs in and stays, knock on wood!
We love our wash down hose by the anchor windless. Jim sprays the mud off the chain while the windless is cranking up the anchor. A great set up!
We were on our way by 6:30am, heading south. Loved the white cliffs of Epes! As usual, we were constantly on the lookout for logs (river sharks). We pulled into the Demopolis Yacht Basin mid-afternoon, filled the two tanks with diesel, and settled into our slip at the marina. We thought we were at the tail end of the Loopers, but we discovered lots of them in Demopolis. The maple sugar fairy paid a visit to John and April’s boat for their son John Jr.. We had not seen them since Kentucky Lake, and we only saw their boat in Demopolis. We also found another Portland Pudgy, hanging off the stern of a Beneteau sailboat.
We borrowed the courtesy car and enjoyed fried catfish and fried oysters at the Red Barn restaurant in Demopolis. Another great day!
