Sunday December 27 and Monday December 28, 2015
We headed north on the intracoastal waterway, passed North Captiva Island and Cabbage Key, and pulled carefully into Pelican Bay on the north east side of Cayo Costa Island. We saw a Tow Boat hanging out by the entrance to the anchorage. There were lots of shoals and directions in were very specific. I imagine the Tow Boat did a good business on all the boaters who were not paying attention to where they were going.
Cayo Costa State Park was great! We rowed to the dock, paid the $2 per person fee, and took the trolley to the beach. Lots of shells, lovely beach, and not many people. We love it! Collected lots of shells. At 4:30pm on our second afternoon we rowed to a nearby sandbar for docktails! The crew of Lazy Susan had invited us to join them and their yacht club! Fun!
