On Thursday, Jim had ordered the tiny white insulator from Balmar. It cost 50 cents. He ordered 4 of them to be on the safe side. We wanted to be able to travel over the Memorisl Day weekend, so he paid $100 for overnight shipping from Seattle to Daytona Beach. It was worth it!
The package arrived mid-morning, Dave did a masterful job of installing it in our alternator, and by 12:30pm, we were casting off our lines. Yeah! The alternator was working perfectly, charging our batteries, as we motored north.
It was another beautiful day, with long straight channels past homes that were all about fun on the water.
We pulled into Marineland Marina in the late afternoon, walked across Rt A1A for a swim in the ocean, and enjoyed a cheeseburger at the Marina happy hour. The Whitney Center for Marine Studies is next to the Marina. We found out later that it was co-founded by Sam Gurin. His daughter Anne is a friend in Maine!
Night at Marineland Marina.
