It was another beautiful day with puffy white clouds. We left Morehead City Yacht Basin at 8:20am, heading north up a river and a canal. 22 nautical miles and three hours later, we pulled into Whittaker Creek Marina, near Oriental, NC. The Marina is owned by Knute. He talked us in thru the narrow channel, and helped us tie up. We told him that we’d come to see Heron’s sister, and he pointed the way.
Star chaser had black trim, windshield wipers, and her main sail was furled inside the mast. We also noticed that her shore power came into the boat on her port side. Heron’s shore power hook up is inside the cockpit.
Fun to see another Pearson pilothouse. Only 30 were ever built.
After lunch, Joe the dockhand changed the oil on our boat. Knute is really trying to provide great service.
I was making a special dinner for Jim for Father’s Day, so we invited Joe to join us. Nice
Night at Whittaker Creek Marina.
