We left Tangier Island soon after our breakfast at Chesapeake House. We sailed north to Solomon’s Island. We were back in Maryland! Yeah! We anchored near a tiki hut and lots of boats at docks. It was a beautiful evening for dinner on the boat. Jim rowed over and picked up Marc and Nicola who were anchored near us.
After dinner, the sky to the west grew blacker and blacker. Jim rowed our guests back to their boat, and he was back safely before the storm hit. We were anchored closer to shore than I would have liked. I kept the engine on during the storm, watching off our stern. We were about 30 feet from the nearest dock. But we never dragged, and we made it through the storm without having to pull up our anchor and move.
Night at anchor, Solomon’s Island, Maryland.
