Day 8. Thursday 11/10/22

Thursday almost was a complete disaster of a day. Almost. We woke up early, had breakfast, a last swim in the hotel pool, and I emptied our little safe in our closet before checking out. Jim has not been allowed to carry his passport since our honeymoon when he left it at home, and then almost lost it on a bus.
I gave Jim his wallet after emptying the safe. It would only be a few hours before we would board our cruise ship, and I could put it back in the ship’s safe. We checked out of the hotel and sat in the lobby waiting for our group to be loaded. Jim came up to me with a stricken face. He had lost his wallet. I could have wrung his bloody neck. Here we were, about to get on a bus for two hours, and then on a ship. I had his passport, but his Covid vaccination card and his credit cards would be difficult to replace. Luckily Jim was able to get someone to let him back in our room. There was the wallet, under the bed! The day was saved! What a relief!!!!

One last look at our view of Bangkok
We had a two hour bus ride to the port
After a week of traveling, we had 2 loads of laundry
When we arrived onboard, I was surprised that we were able to get a reservation at the Chef’s Table, one of the alternative dining spots. This is the wine pairing list.
This is my new Jim Thompson silk “going out to dinner” purse

The mango and tapioca cream with toasted coconut was amazing

There is an infinity pool on the stern of the 7th deck
All is forgiven! We are starting our 28 day Viking ocean cruise!
