Day 49, Wellington cable car

Wednesday, December 21, 2022

It was raining in the morning, so I stayed in our room while Jim went on a tour of the Beehive, the Parliament. I found him outside, after his tour was over, and we walked to the base of the Wellington cable car, a few blocks away.

We rode up the cable car to the top, had lunch, looked around in the museum, and then came back down. I was ready for a rest!

Later we walked to a bistro that is located in the original home of John Plimmer. Delicious dinner outside in the garden.

The Beehive, where offices for the Parliament are located. Our hotel was only a block away.

The ride up was quick!
The view from the top of the cable car was great!
This cute building used to be the home of John Plimmer, the father of Wellington, and the ancestor of my cousin in law, David Page. It is now the Boulcott Street Bistro.

The filet of beef was fabulous!
