Day 63, Polynesian Cultural Center.

Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

We arrived at the Polynesian Cultural Center a few minutes before it opened at 12:30pm. There are 6 areas in the center, each devoted to a different island culture. Each had a performance on the hour. We were able to attend a performance or demonstration for all: Samoa, Figi, New Zealand, Tonga, Hawaii, and Tahiti.

The center is next to Brigham Young University and most of the employees are students at the university. 97% of the students are Mormon. But, they are performing the dances of their ancestors, including the hula which invokes stories of the Gods etc… Very interesting day.

The Polynesian Cultural Arts Center reminds me of Epcot!
