I’d never heard of Scotia, New York before Tuesday. It’s a little town across the Mohawk River from Schenectady. The town dock had good reviews on Active Captain, and someone had posted all about what a great spot it was on the great loop forum, so we decided to give it a try.
The town dock was great! $20 for the night plus $10 for shore power. Other than the town’s rescue boat, we were the only ones there. The dock is part of a city park across the street. There was an outdoor amphitheater next us, and jumpin Jacks dinein, next yo that. Turns out that the US water ski team performs every Tuesday night in front of Jumpin Jacks! Cool! We enjoyed the show after indulging in drive in food, then walked 3 blocks into town for a movie! Fun day, except when we hit something submerged in the middle of the river!
Scotia sounds like a “jewel” and would be nice to spend an extra day there.
