It was straight down the canal from Rome to Sylvan Beach. We tied up at the free town wall, put on our bathing suits, and went searching for the beach. They have a large roped off area for swimming, but the life guards had hung a closed sign on the life guard stand. I asked why the area was closed. They had the blue green algae bloom at a nearby beach, and since one beach was closed, the other had to be too. We went swimming outside of the swimming area, with everyone else. Wonderful! Dinner at a beach side restaurant.
When we arrived back at the boat, I realized I had lost my phone charger cord. Retracing my steps, I walked by the old arcade. The fortune teller booth looked so much like the one from the movie “Big”! Turns out the movie was filmed there! Found my charger cord and the ice cream stand. Yeah!
