Crossing to Canada

I’ve heard horror stories about Lake Ontario! About the wind howling from the west, huge waves, etc… But our crossing from cape Vincent, New York to Kingston, Ontario was nothing like that. It was a hot day, and flat calm. Not a single ripple on the surface of the lake. It was our first full day with Grace, our six year old granddaughter. Grace knows how to swim, but we knew that there was a current, so we tied Mr Fish to about 30 feet of floating line, secured that to the aft cleat, and jim and I took turns going in with Geace. Fun! I even had a chance to scrub the scum build up on the waterline. Night at Kingston Confederate basin marina.
