Imagine this….. Imagine maneuvering your boat into a giant pan of water that is 50 feet up in the air. Another boat comes in beside you, you both tie up, and you try not to look down. The gate closes behind you, and then you realize that you are going down. While your pan is going down, the other pan is going up. Soon you are at the bottom of the lift lock, the gate opens, and you continue on your way along the Trent Canal.
Quite a thrill!
